CaptainU Joins USRowing as “Official College Recruiting Partner”

USRowing is pleased to announce CaptainU as an official USRowing sponsor and the “Official College Recruiting Partner of USRowing.” This marks the third year that USRowing and CaptainU have worked together to help athletes interested in rowing in college connect with the collegiate rowing programs that are right for them. This new three-year partnership focuses on further enhancements of the college recruiting experience and continues to bridge the gap among athletes, parents and college coaches.

“We’re excited to sponsor USRowing and give high school rowers the resources to compete at the collegiate level,” said Bernie Taracevicz, General Manager of CaptainU. “Our mission has always been to assist athletes with the recruiting process to earn a collegiate spot, and since the best high-school aged rowers are members of USRowing, we believe our sponsorship provides rowers and their parents a valuable member benefit.”

With members receiving a free recruiting profile account as a benefit of their USRowing membership, this free CaptainU account enables athletes to host erg scores, race results and academic info, as well as search for rowing colleges to identify the programs that best suit them. Additionally, CaptainU tools and resources help users connect directly with college coaches, as well as learn how to navigate what often seems like a confusing recruiting process.

“Providing quality benefits to our members is a priority for USRowing,” said USRowing Chief Domestic Officer Susan Smith. “The CaptainU sponsorship offers a valuable resource for our high school athletes who want to continue rowing during their college years. This collaboration is a win-win for both organizations and, most importantly, will help student-athletes realize their collegiate rowing dreams.”

Athletes with aspirations of rowing in college and their parents will be able to attend informational sessions at the 2019 USRowing Youth National Championships and 2019 USRowing National Championships. Topics covered will include: differences between rowing at the varsity or club level, recruiting timelines, initial eligibility, and more. CaptainU personnel will be on hand to help athletes get the most out of the recruiting process and utilize the tools necessary to take the next step in their collegiate careers. Additionally, CaptainU resources will be available at the 2019 USRowing Youth Regional Challenge and the 2019 USRowing Annual Convention.
